Every job leaves a trail.

DetailTrail is the job app for auto detailers. Log the vehicle, photograph its condition, get the customer's signature, share the report, and line up the next service, all from your phone.

  • Designed for use on your phone
  • Sign in with an email code, no password

Your camera roll isn't a filing system.

Photos in your camera roll, quotes in your texts, notes in your head. DetailTrail keeps the whole job in one record.

  • Show what the car looked like before you touched it.

Condition photos and notes are saved with the job, and the customer signs an authorization in the app. DetailTrail stores the exact wording they signed.

  • One record per job, not five apps.

Customer, vehicle, photos, checklist, invoice, and payments live together, so you're not rebuilding a job from a text thread and a photo album.

  • A report you're glad to send.

Completing a job saves a report snapshot you can share with the customer by link. Authorization, photos, and the report have to be in place first, so the paperwork doesn't get skipped on a busy day.

  • Repeat customers without relying on memory.

Set a next-service date and it appears in follow-ups on your Today screen.

  • Know what a job actually earned.

Track costs per job and see profit by service, so pricing stops being a feeling.

The trail of a job

Every job follows the same path, so nothing depends on what you remember at the end of a long day.

  1. Check in

Pick or add the customer, then choose the vehicle by year, make, and model from NHTSA vehicle data.

  2. Document

Capture condition photos in labeled slots and note any existing damage. The customer signs the authorization on your phone.

  3. Do the work

Follow the checklist from your service template and move the job through its stages as you go.

  4. Hand off

Complete the job, share the customer report by link, and record the invoice and payments.

  5. Come back

Set the next-service date. It shows up in follow-ups on your Today screen when it's time to reach out.

Questions, answered

Straight answers about what DetailTrail does today.

Who is DetailTrail for?

Auto detailers who run their own jobs, whether that's a solo mobile setup or a shop with a crew. It's designed to be used on a phone, on site.

Where is DetailTrail available?

DetailTrail is available in the United States only.

Do I need to create a password?

No. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address.

Can my team use it?

Yes. Add team members to your business and give each one a role: owner, manager, or worker. Some business settings are limited by role.

How does the vehicle picker work?

You choose year, make, and model from searchable lists built on NHTSA vehicle data, instead of typing every vehicle by hand.

What does the customer authorization do?

The customer signs an authorization in the app, and DetailTrail keeps the exact wording they signed. It's a record of what was agreed, not legal advice, so ask an attorney whether the wording fits your business.

How do customers get their report?

You share it with them by link. Sharing links requires signing in, so your job data is stored in your DetailTrail account.

Where is my data, and can I delete it?

Your business data is stored in your DetailTrail account. You can delete your account from inside the app. If you're the owner, that permanently deletes the business along with its jobs, customers, vehicles, photos, invoices, and follow-ups. If you're a team member, it removes you and leaves the business with the owner.
